Soelden

Overview of Soelden

Soelden has invested massively in new lifts to link its home slopes, which suit adventurous intermediates best, with snow sure runs on the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers. This is very good news - the Tiefenbach, in particular, is a serious 2km/1 mile long slope - and may be enough to establish this quite impressive resort on the international market at last.

Alpine Ski World Cup venue and one of Europe's moste renowned Ski & Snowboard Resorts. The infinite number of slopes and ski trails for all levels and abilities coupled with the perfect grooming of not less than 150 km of slopes make Soelden a truly unique winter sports center. State-of-the-art ski lifts and gondolas with a total capacity of 68,000 persons/hour guarantee ultimate skiing fun without queuing. Ski trails provide ultimate skiing fun for both beginners and advanced skiers at Giggijoch, as well as for expert racers at Gaislachkogl. In addition, Gaislachkogl peak (3,058 m) is a truly outstanding insider's tip for lovers of off-piste skiing.

Snow is absolutely guaranteed from November trough May thanks to the ski area's high-Alpine location, 2 glacier ski areas at Rettenbach & Tiefenbach and snow making systems covering all slopes lower than 2,200 m.

Soelden has the marvelous BIG 3 vantage points - it is Austria's only ski area with 3 mountains higher than 3,000 meters which are accessible by lifts or gondolas. And the BIG 3 Rally ranks among the most beautfiul ski trails across the entire ski region.

Soelden, the main town of the Oetztal Arena, has developed into an internationally known sports and training centre. Both professionals and leisure sportsmen are in their element. Not less than 20 huts and mountain restaurants within the ski area are warmly welcoming you. Rustic mountain huts, umbrella bars, spacious free-flow restaurants cater to suit all tastes. Great apr??s-ski ambience is guaranteed as well.

Soelden has a lively atmosphere and a wealth of apr??s ski bars and nighclubs. On the mountain you'll find a mix of restaurants, many in traditional Tirolean style and offering local specialities. If you choose to eat out in Soelden of an evening you can choose between local and international menus.
