Incentive Tours:Sample Itinerary
Luxury Hotel category
Day 1
Arrival at Munich airport at 7 am and transfer by luxury motor coach to the
resort of your choice (approx. 1 1/2 hours drive to most resorts, max drive
3 hours)
Check in at your accommodation establishment.
Light Lunch and welcome at the hotel.
Afternoon - fitting of sports equipment, skies and boots, snowboards, ice
skates, cross-country - whatever appeals to you most. Time to relax, unpack
and explore the hotel facilities and spa areas or village surroundings at leisure.
Welcome evening with your ski instructors to discuss the program and events
for the week, followed by dinner at the hotel
Day 2
After breakfast we head off to the ski slopes for our first day of skiing.
Once all skiers have been sorted into their ability groups and had their first
tries or runs, enjoy a lunch break at leisure with your instructors in one
of the many ski huts on top of the mountain, followed by more skiing in the
afternoon.
Alternative non-skiing program: just because you don't want to be on skies
doesn't mean that you won't have a chance to explore the mountain tops. Together
with a local guide, take a trip up the cable car and enjoy a snow shoe hike
through the beautiful snow-covered romantic countryside. This way you can also
join in on the lunch in one of Austria's famous ski huts.
After a long day in the fresh air, a customary drink or two - well known as
apres ski - is a must for all before getting back to the hotel late
in the afternoon.
Refresh yourself and get ready for a Gala Dinner with live music and dance
at the hotel.
Day 3
After breakfast the skiers will head off for the slopes for yet another fun
filled action day in the snow.
For the non-skiers, a visit to the famous Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens,
Innsbruck is on the program of the day. Depending on your resort, a drive of
around 45 min to 1 1-2 hours will take you there.
Tonight we will leave the cosy hotel set up and transfer to the mountain tops
for a traditional Austrian meal (Kasnockn, Gulasch or similar), Gluehwein and
Schnapps, before heading down the lit toboggan run. A must of every Austrian
experience, lots of fun and laughter - but keep your wits about you
to control the speed!
Day 4
After breakfast the skiers will head off for the slopes for yet another fun
filled action day in the snow - by now even the beginners should be doing
their turns successfully and getting more at ease on their skies. The advanced
skiers will be exploring slopes further a field, including the many other
villages' part of their regional ski pass
Non skiers: we will give you the morning off to relax in the hotel spa or
grab a pair of ice skates to take a turn on the local ice skate rink or frozen
lake. For lunch, how about hopping on the local train to the next village or
small town and enjoy a light lunch in a coffee shop and a walk.
It is time for another Austrian treat - a ride in the horse sleigh.
Equipped with a packet of hot chestnuts and flasks filled with drinks, we are
heading off, with warm blankets on our laps to let the fairy tale countryside
glide by us, through forests, past lakes and rivers.
Dinner at the hotel will end the evening, after which those who still have
the energy will probably take off to explore the busy nightlife - a
pub-crawl is just what you need.
Day 5
After breakfast, skiers and non-skiers alike will enjoy a day of winter Olympics.
Your instructors have the day's events laid out for you and your competitive
edge will show for sure.
In true apres ski style, we will finish the ski day before getting
back to the hotel to prepare for a special price giving and performance by
one of the local groups - a typical Tyrolean evening with a big buffet
offering a range of local specialities will end the day
Day 6
After breakfast you all need a day off.
Ski or explore at your own leisure - we will keep a ski guide available.
As an alternative we have a coach waiting to take you to Salzburg for the
day.
Mozart's birth place, the cobble stone alleys and romantic setting of this
famous medieval town, also known from the Sound of Music, are a must for the
Austria lover.
Tonight we will light the fire torches and take an evening walk before dinner
(either at the hotel or in a local restaurant)
Day 7
Breakfast at the hotel. Today is your last chance to ski and have fun in the
snow.
For non-skiers, take a toboggan and enjoy the runs - by day light this time!
Its time to say farewell, so a gala dinner, followed by an evening out in
town, will round your ski experience off.
Day 8
Breakfast and departure for Munich. We have most of the day before having to
check in, so a quick sight seeing tour and time for shopping in Munich is a
good way to stretch your legs before the long flight home.
ALTERNATIVES OR ADD ON IDEAS:
VIENNA: spend 2 days in the city of dreams and music. A formal Viennese
ball is the perfect ending to any incentive trip
NON SKI SEASON: just because it is not winter, does not mean, that
you cannot enjoy a ski incentive trip! Austria has 4 active ski glaciers, which
are open most of the year (except months July / August) - best times
to enjoy all of Austria is May / June and September/October, when the snow
is in good condition and the climate in the valleys is mild (spring or autumn)
and perfect to enjoy one of the following options:
Wild water rafting
Hiking, climbing or abseiling
A variety of watersports activities
More fun city sightseeing
Golf
EXCURSION OPTIONS:
LIPPIZANER BREEDING GROUNDS
GROSSGLOCKNER HIGH ALPINE Road (a road the base of Austria's highest mountain,
over 4000m)
KRIMMLER waterfalls (the highest waterfalls in Europe)
VENICE
There is no limit to the additional excursions or side trips to an incentive
trip and we suggest that variety be added to compliment the standard skiing
tours.
In addition, SkiAustria ALWAYS accompanies its tours and the above itinerary
was compiled and accompanied by Michaela Meiser.
Pricing is dictated by budget and included services required.
